Pousada Pitinga is located one mile (1.6 km) away of the center main square of Arraial D´Ajuda facing the sea and surrounded by Atlantic Rain Forest. The surrounding nature is so pristine and pure that the fauna and flora are easily seen from anywhere in the pousada and from the streets of the village.

Conceived to preserve the natural surroundings, Pousada Pitinga was built integrating the pousada´s infrastructure into a natural garden. The 21 apartments or chateaus recall the Indian pyramidal shaped huts. The apartments were designed as open as possible to pursue the mission of “…keeping our guests in the highest integration with Nature.” The common areas of the Pousada Pitinga are designed with refinement and good taste combining rustic with charm. The furniture is made by local artists and artisans. The entire chateau roofs have been covered by Piaçava, a local type of palm tree commonly use in this region.

With sauna, swimming pool, bar, restaurant, game room, meeting room and lots of nature, Pousada Pitinga is a comfortable refuge for nature seekers. The circular swimming pool opens to the skies as a ‘mandala’ to receive positive energy. This Pousada is decorated with great taste and even famous Brazilians artists such as Scliar, Caribé, Volpi, and Sérgio Fingermann accentuate the feelings that float in the Pousada´s atmosphere.

What to do while visiting Arraial D´Ajuda? Main thing to do is to relax…and enjoy the almost deserted beaches. In the village, there are historical buildings and the main square is surrounded by shops, artisan shops, restaurants and a street market. The Church of Nossa Senhora D´Ajuda was built in 1549 and there locals discovered a spring which is considered healing and miraculous. The sandy beaches, the crystalline and pure sea water and the surrounding nature combine to bring the best scenery for relaxation. Many bars and restaurants are located on the beaches and serve Delicious seafood. The best beaches to visit are Mucuge Beach, it is very popular and can get crowed. For more secluded beaches, Taípe is an option.
